History

The Cosmopolitan Learning Centre originated in 1970 as a non-profit organization dedicated to providing day program services to adults affected by intellectual and/or physical disabilities.

At that time, the centre served 17 participants with the main focus being centre-based activities.

Where we are now......

The Centre has since grown to support over 200 individuals with diverse abilities, interests and needs in two locations within our community.  There is a strong focus on community involvement with the help of a "person-centered plan".  This type of program planning helps to distinguish the individualized traits and unique needs of the participant in order to help them to be successful in reaching their goals.

The Cosmopolitan Learning Centre employs upwards of 100 employees (titled LifeSkills Support Workers and Employment Support Workers) whose duties are to provide support to the participants.
